John Kelly was born in 1963 in Paris, and his parents immediately transported him to Long Island, where he spent the next half century scheming to get back. In 1981, heading in the wrong direction, he moved to New York City to study art, where he was then held hostage by a rent controlled apartment for the next 15 years. As the Advertising Art Director of Details magazine, he convinced a generation of aspiring club kids to buy clothes they didn’t need. In 1996, he moved to Los Angeles, bought a car, and spent the next 19 years inside of it, where his two beautiful daughters and beautiful wife Colleen, Caitlin and Maeve drove with him. Four years ago, he moved back to Paris, coming full circle. His French is terrible. Good times.
